I just picked up a set of black Cavalry Hardbags. Tried to put them one but they don't fit. it seems like the quick release bolts are too short. What did you other guys who bought these do to mount the bags?
That side car is cool from that front view. By the way, read almost every post tonight. Some great ideas and some so not, but that's what makes a Harley a personal statement. I'll post pictures soon and start spending some more time and cash with the great additions I've discovered here. Thanks all!
I've not seen much on speedometers that throw back to a classic look. Not overly impressed with the Harley speedometers. Would prefer something close to what i found at the link below, especially the 1954 to 1956 speedometer. Anyone know of a good source for a nostalgic looking speedometer?
Let us know if you find one. I like the speedo on the Deluxe with the last digit dropped. The combo tach/speedo just looks out of place on our bikes, too.
Unrelated, I've tried 4 different seats on my bike. In order: stock, police, corbin solo, and a mustang solo. Never got comfy on the Corbin, the Mustang is better, and still better than stock, but the cop seat seemed to be the comfort winner. Ended up going back to one. Unfortunately they're hideous, so I had to do something. I bought the repro v-twin seat rail, and the brackets that supposedly adapt it to the T-bar seat mount. The brackets flat out don't work with the 09-up seat T. I mocked it up to see how it fit, and I love the look, but I'm going to have to spend some time fabbing it to get it to fit. If anybody has any ideas, I'm all ears!
Hey I'll help out a bit, I bought all the goods to do this mod to the 2011 police seat but I couldn't touch the ground with the police seat so I sold everything for the project. But another forum member (sorry I forgot who) was nice enough to pm me his pics so this would be a good place to share.
That's going to save me a ton of time, thank you. I tried it with the brackets in both positions, and honestly couldn't see which direction was more straightforward. After seeing the finished product I definitely know what to do now. Thanks again!!!
