Cant tell everyone how much I like these bikes on this thread. The ideas really get to flowing. I've got a couple of idease and would be open to your real thoughts, If it woul look like crap, tell me.
My 08 Fatboy been lowered in the rear. got the PC V w/ autotune coming this week. I've added the HD FL bags. Got a spring seat frame cover off ebay that used on Crossbones. I painted the bike mainly to rid the poor thing of those aweful graphics. Added th lightbar adn some skulls here adn there, So I would like to get you thoughts on the ones I'm teetering on:
Wire/spoke wheels w/ White Walls. Larger front fender like the deluxe or heritage. And if a springer front fender would be ok? And not sure about the pipes. I like the true duals w/ fishtails a lot. MiniApes.
I'll get better pics when the bike is closer to done. So here it is.
Whiskers here is another question for you. Which pair do you like the best?
Tough question....first, the BB's were 1" diameter while the Wild 1's are 1-1/4"...so IMO the Wild's look better (though you can get 1-1/4" BB's). The BB's made low speed turning difficult...so IMO the Wild's win out. For long days in the saddle the Wild's win out. But, if I was looking for a bar hopping, around town, Cholo/gansta' look, IMO the BB's win out hands-down.
There's a thread in the Softail section right now about BB's. IMO, those bars are quite different than the ones I had on the RKC so you ought to take a look at them before deciding and give OS DELUXE a shout about how he likes them.
Hey Whiskers, love the look of the 518's and am looking at putting a pair on. Need more pullback after putting the new Corbin solo on. Went to dealer yesterday who said it would take 8 hrs labour with internal wiring, changing up switches etc...does this sound right? Did you change the bars yourself?
IMHO, nothing says "classic" like visors on the lights. But I keep hearing about troubles with fitting. What have you guys used and what fits the best?

If you need more pullback, take a look at the 508's before you buy. I had an indy change the bars for me and saved a little bit. Eight hours sounds about right...and while at it, think about changing out the brake lineT to a nicer one than the stock. Did the price include new cables? I changed mine to stainless braided (+2").

8 hours is ridiculous changed bars and i ran wires internally took 3 hours.

I used the actual visors instead of getting the visor trim rings. The visors themselves don't have the fitment issues that the trim rings do.

From what I can tell the 518's have about 2" more pullback than stock which i'll be ok with. I've checked out the 508's on my buddy's bike and pullback is more but I felt a little like I was riding a wheelbarrow. i'm looking at switching out cables as well so I guess 8 hrs is about right.
