Anyone know of a source for a chrome battery box-looking replacement for the right side cover? (ala 70s vintage FL). Ever since the RK came out I always wondered why the MoCo didn't revive that on this bike, while they built the Dynas with it from the get go.
Looks like you'll have to fab (or have someone fab) one up, then send it to the chrome house Probably cost you about $400 if you do it yourself, or have a friend that is handy with sheetmetal fab one up for beer and pizza or what ever. Largest expense will be show chrome. Or get one from a Dyna, and modify/fab a mount for it. I haven't seen under the cover on an FLHR, but I'm sure there is something you could tack an "L" shaped bracket onto to mount the battery box too, then screw through the bottom under the rubber pad. Just make sure you leave it so you can put the old cover back on in case you decide it looks like ***.
Got me a RKC. Thanks for all the help. I can only hope I do her as well as you all did your RKC.
Many comps on the color of your new bike! I saw that same color this weekend - Awesome! Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on your progress...it never really ends.

Thought I would add my Road King. I might have posted this before, but this year lowered it front and rear. Also lowered the front fender and added bullet turn signals and the round air cleaner cover. Getting the license plate below the tail light is my next project. I love this thread and all the beautiful bikes on it.
