I second that, especially after the latest update 3.1. Make it into a better GPS, than the one i bought!

I am waiting for the Garmin 450 release March 5th. The best pre-release pricing I have found it $659.00. At that price I would go for the Zumo 550.

You can get a Zumo 550 for $724.00 with the Bluetooth and XM

Hopefully someone will have decent prices close to the release date.

If your budget is less than that you still can't go wrong with the Garmin Quest.

personally
A good map and a compass.
If going into a congested area that is confusing an internet download of driving directions.
a pilots knee / map board works just great!
and the price for all three about $50.
Most of the time I just go ride and wherever I end up at..... Well that's where I am!

To me a GPS is just about as useless as an external air temp gauge on a bike.Especially when HDMOCO's A/T is off about 20 degrees.
Wonder where you would be not if there gps has a corresponding error ratio? 20 miles from where you really want to be or think you are?
Well call me if you get loss.........

I use a Garmin 2720. No XM/ bluetooth just a GPS. Large screen easy to use. Down side is not portable. The 2720 was made for motorcycles and was out before the new Zumo 550/450. Have not checked in a while but the price is coming down. You can still get lost with a GPS it is just a controled lost!

For the money, the Garmin 2610 with a 2 gig CF card to hold the entire USAwins hands down for M/C use.

The 2610 is discontinued, but there are brand new sealed box units on ebay for under $300.

The 2610 does not have all the fluff of the Zumo, but actually has more basic GPS/NAV features if that's what's important to you(the Zumo is simplified for newby users) & is waterproof & shockproof(it also uses exactly the same maps as the Zumo).

I have no need for mp3 player etc(my stereo does all that)& I use a Scala Rider for Blue Tooth so the 2610 works perfectly for me & I do make use of some of the NAV features that Garmin eliminated from the Zumo.

I haveowned/used a bunch of different NAV units over the years(I have a double DIN Eclipse unit built into the dash in my 06 Escape), as far as a basic accurate/easy to use GPS/NAV unit none can beat out the old reliable 2610.
