Default Help diagnose an issue

This is not an issue w my bike, however with one of my riding buddies who has a lil language barrier. He has a deuce, when he rides the bikes shuts off, sometimes you can hear the bike high idling. He says that he tries to maintain a high idle in order to avoid the bike from shutting off.

Trying to help the guy out so I'm looking for suggestions, guidance to see if I can diagnose the issue and get it resolved. Don't want the guy to have an accident on the roads, its unsafe to ride bike that shuts off unknowingly..

I think his bike is an 06 Deuce, its fuel injected not carb...

Thanks for the assistance~

when it shuts off, if you turn the ignition back on with the run switch in run, is the check engine light on?

Clean and tighten battery cables before doing anything else.

I had a similar issue but the cause was a poor connection in the run/stop switch. It made enough connection to run, but wasn't powering up at full voltage. The bike would stall if I rolled completely off the throttle. I noticed that when I turned on the ignition, my cel wasn't on. I then cycled the run/stop switch several times and it came on. I haven't touched the run/stop switch since and all has been fine. The idle air port is a high probability as well, but in my case, I run a half a can of seafoam or tecron through the upper engine at every oil change so that wouldn't be an issue for me.
