Default Did I do something wrong?

I just purchased the Mustang Super Touring seat. While taking off the stock seat I couldn't figure out how to take the seat strap off of the one side. So I just cut it off. Wondering if there was a way to properly take it off if I would have been patient enough to look up how to do it.

Drill out the rivet, is the only way to get it off. One side has a screw the other side is a rivet.

Unbolting them would also have worked.
