Thats a good idea, you have any pics? What specific wire did you tie into? They just stuck under the speaker pods?

I dont know if I'm missing something but if they were put on the underside of the lids wouldn't they be shining into the sky with the lids opened????

I would imagine that you would need to attach them to the inside edge of the lid (when closed), not the top of the lid and then the beam angled downward towards the inside of the bag to show the contents. That is how the Harley tourpak light works. On the other hand you could just have them shine in your eyes to blind you when you turn them on!

I'm in TN with some serious heat in the summer and so far they have stayed put on the sides of the bag. I did use industrial strength Velcro versus the cheap sticky stuff. I'll let everyone know how it holds up. As far as where to place them in the bag... I just did it at night in my garage with the lights off to see exactly where they would work best. I also wanted it to (generally) be out of the way of putting stuff in the bag. I think I might just stick one in the bed of my truck under the cover too.

zippo lighter....carried in the little pocket near your right hand pocket of your jeans. (Little pocket on left hand if you wear Harley jeans).

There are any number of small LED lights....some that attach to your key chain. I saw a six-light LED that clipped onto the top of a 9 volt battery....was sold at 7-11. Pitiful when you need a small flashlight.....to find your flashlight in your saddlebag.
(how big is your saddlebag?)
