Most people won't mess with your stuff, but if you're concerned you can put a lock on your hitch to make the honest people honest. Or put a chain through your wheel. Never been a problem for me.
I read this thread just because I am interested in a trailer. I know this one was about the pull behind type, I am interested in the push in front of type. I can't find any threads about that type.
My trailer coupler has an opening that is for locking the coupler to the ball.
Once I unhook the trailer and take it off the ball I close it up and put the lock in it.
I've left it at motels before but I make sure that I don't leave any valuables inside of it.
Make sure it's on your insurance policy and don't worry about it.
Chain/cable it to something is a good idea. Wouldnt take much to throw it in the back of a pickup or van. Had a tire go out when my buddy was towing his by Crazy Woman Creek for those that know the area, it was 107 deg. that day. Took out the spring hanger as well, interesting day. We almost wanted to give that thing away after that day.. lol
