Default Jumping groups

Last week I traded my 05 springer for a '13 ultra classic and can't be happier. I'm finally comfy on long rides!

So I'm looking for suggestions. On my springer I had a full stage 1 using V&H fishtails for more bark to alert the rich soccer moms that can't stay off their phones. For the Ultra I'd like to get some slip ons and in the winter change the air cleaner. I'm looking for recommendations on some slip ons that aren't obnoxiously loud but obviously louder than stock. And it's my understanding I can do this without having to add the tuner until I change the intake.

And sorry for the cryptic title of this thread. That's not what I had typed!

I'd suggest you listen to other bikes and see what they are using.
Go to a bike night, rally, dealer bbq etc.

every owner on the internet will tell you that his pipes have; "nice low rumble, not too loud, really barks when i get on it"

that exact phrase shows up at least 32 times a day on this forum.

If you take the time to figure out what you like, you'll buy the right mufflers the first time, not the 3rd ...or 4th.

a huge consideration is do you want to hear the radio, louder pipes are no fun if you are suffering fatigue 3 hours into a 8 hour riding day...with more to follow

a simple slip on swap won't require any tuning compensation

enjoy the new ride, get used to the extra weight up high, and the difference(s) in the way the front end tracks from the springer
Mike

Thanks Mike. That's exactly what I did in order to pick the ones I had on my springer. Will hit a few bike nights and see what I can dig up. I know it's highly subjective.

Yeah, I don't want it so loud I can't hear the radio or have it drive me nuts on the HW.

Thanks. I'm already settling into it nicely and it's a huge improvement over the springer. Should have done this a long time ago!

In my experience Rinehart (sp) have always been a nice sounding, not too obnoxious muffler.

They have a "nice low rumble, not too loud, really barks when i get on it". (#33)

I jumped groups two months ago. So welcome to touring family and I promise, you will never go back. As for pipes I have Rinehart's and think they aren't to loud.

Haha!

Rinehart is at the top of my list. One of the ultras I test rode had them and I liked the sound. Not too loud.

Thx. Yeah. I won't go back but may add a project bike down the road.
