does exhaust get louder

2005 uc screaming eagle slip ons,, i had the bike for about a year now and the exhaust seems to be louder than i bought it,, what give with this??? it does not bother me but why is it getting louder?? do the pipes wear out?

the baffles are wrapped with a fiberglass material...after time it burns out. You can take the baffles out and rewrap them

most all pipes get louder with age, it has to do with the packing around the baffles "wearing" out and such.

Check the packing around the Baffles in the mufflers. That is the only thing that wears out.

My old '05 Deuce had Screamin' Eagle II mufflers. The actual metal baffle was corroding/rusting away and getting louder. Mufflers were put on new in '05 and I noticed the wear in '10. They had 86k plus miles on them.
