If you look into my photo album I have 10's and pictures from all angles.
Mike
This proves that I need to find a sea of SGs with PY and just check them out at a rally...because everyone swears that 10s will block the mirrors...and you say yours are just fine....and your look is what I want.
Anyway...this guys says.....these are 12(s), but they actually measure as 10(s) and your buddy's 14(s) actually measure as 12(s) because of the two inch recess that all SGs have. Does anyone know what he is referring to?
This guy you were talking to is a moron, misspoke, or you misunderstood him.
→SG's do not have a "two inch recess". The rear suspension is lowered on SG's but that does not affect handlebar height.
→As others have said Yaffe's MBB's seem to be higher than advertised. Which is the opposite of what that guy was saying.
→Haven't meet one person with 10's that was able to use fairing mirrors but almost all say you can with 12's.
→Pushing them forward/backward definitely makes a difference on perceived height.
My pic is MBB 10's. I love'em. Aesthetically, they are perfect to me as I, like you, don't like the above the faring look.
I have the Yaffe 10" on mine. Took the stock fairing mirrors off and put Yaffe knockoff mirrors on. After about 2 months I decided I didn't like the look of mirrors on the bars so I went back to the fairing mirrors. Not as good as bar mirrors for a full view but a cleaner look IMO.
I ha e 12" MBB's and they are not az tall as the above pic. I see fine from my fairing mirrors which is why I went with 12's. The bars above gotta be 14's.
