I use one of these. Braided stainless and should last a long time. And they come in a two pack so you can give one to your buddy for Christmas or something.

Insert it between the slots on the brake disc and screw it into the valve stem. It works perfect, no loss of air when installing or removing and will adapt to any chuck so no need to carry anything special.

Just remember to remove it before rolling or

Okay.....so after taking a closer look at the ones on Amazon I thought 7" would be too short! So I went out and measured the one in my bag and sure enough, it's 13". And it's the perfect length to feed between the slots in the disc. I can't remember where I got them though. I think it was Camping World but when I checked their website I couldn't find them. Anyway, if you can find one you will be pleased at how well it works.

Wonder if I could get one on my rear shocks without removing my bag?? Would make it easy to check/add air. Screw on extension, and check/add air.

Should have those at any big truck stop. Never thought of that. I did have one longer for my spare tire on my truck so that I could check it.

HD makes (well ok they dont make them but are branded HD) those extensions now as well

...and for those with lace wheels like me putting 45 degree valve stems is not an option unless someone can school me on a way and all in all checking/adding air is a major PIA!

I'm also using valve stem extenders. Got a pair of Camco's from Amazon.

Good news, you can use your credit card around here to buy "air"

I have wire spokes. Very difficult getting to valve. Was told by HD dealer no 45 degree valve stem available for tube tires on RKC. Purchased Slime air compressor and need to power it from my cars cig. Lighter receptacle. Compressor with tire gauge works just fine. Very hard to get my fingers around the spokes which happen to right near the valve stem. Bad design in my opinion.

I was at the dealer for service yesterday, asked them to check the air, but they forgot until after the bike was washed and ready to go. Service manager says no problem, I'll do it for you. He was laying on the floor cussin' at least 15 minutes to check and fill front and rear, RKC has spoked and tubed, don't know if that makes it more difficult.
