I have an 03 EG STANDARD.I had the dealer install lowering air shocks which at least lowered the rear by 3/4 of an inch and allowed my feet to be flat on the ground. A few years later I had the HD front fork lowering kit installed which leveled the bike off. Never rode the bike stock so I do not know how it changed the ride other than my feet are flat.

I just had a set of SG 12" shocks and a Progressive fork lowering spring kit done on my RK and it lowered the bike 1" front and rear. I also had the seat reworked by a local seat guy. Removed old original padding and added memory foam. WOW. What a difference. You can lower the front 2" also with the Progressive kits. Lowering the rear 2" is a lot and you may have issues bottoming out etc. I could not afford the air ride suspension but there are many expensive options out there also.

Why do you want to lower it? If you want improved grip when your feet are down then consider modifying your seat as lesrub suggests, then look at thick soled riding boots, to give a little extra leg reach, plus a solid footing.

I have the LA Choppers lowering blocks. I went this route because it doesn't change the shock angle and I still get the full travel of the taller shocks. (does not stiffen up the ride) I have had these on for 2 years, and never bottomed out. They drop the rear 1".

Look into replacing the rear shocks with an aftermarket 12" or Progressive make the 940 or 944 that are a 13" that have the ride height of a 12".

Chances are your stock 2003 shocks are shot anyway so why not improve the ride at the same time
