Never was a fan of the aluminum 28 spoke "Knuckles" wheels that come stock on the Road King, Electra Glide and Road Glide Ultra. Seems no matter what kind of cleaner, polish I used I could never get the stains off and they really didn't look all that good. Because I'm a big fan of chrome, I was looking for the right chrome wheels and blackwalls (don't like whitewalls either).
Finally decided that my '12 Road King FLHR would look best with profile chrome aluminum laced wheels and blackwall tires. Called my dealer asked if had such a thing laying around. To my surprise he had a brand new set that were taken off a new Street Glide. The front is an 18'' wheel and the rear is a 16".
Oh, by the way, I now have for sale a set of stock '12 Road King 28 spoke Knuckles wheels with thin white wall tires with 8,000 miles on them for sale (in case anyone is interested, you can PM me).
See attachments (far left is stock wheel - of course), threw a few extra just cause I'm vane about my motorcycle
Looks good on the King.
I took mine off my last bike as soon as I bought it and put the Street Glide wheels on it for I am not a fan of spokes, and haven't been since they dissapeared in the late 70's, early 80's when aluminum 1st came on the scene.
Again, they do look sharp on your King, enjoy.
I am a fan of spokes and going to put these on my sg this winter. I think they look great. Can I ask what you*got them for? My dealer quoted me $750 with bearings
I've got the 9 spoke wagon wheels. Over the coming winter I'm gonna cut every 7th spoke off the stockers, starting witty the one next to the air fill valve.when it's done, I'll paint it satin black
