Thanks guys for the quick responses. And thank you for your support. The thing I noticed yesterday when I put the pictures up side by side is this: There are three bikes that look very, very similar when all the goodies are put on. The Softail Deluxe, Heritage Classic, and RK Classic. This is what makes my decision harder. But the prices are too far apart................This will be my first Harley as I have ridden crotch rockets-----I wouldn't buy an ext warranty on a crotch rocket and have never needed the factory one---would you guys pocket the 1,000 for the ext warranty I'm planning on getting or go ahead and add it. It's 5 year unlimited mile warranty.
Stay safe my friend, our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your comrades in harms way, no matter where in the world they are. Men and Women of many a country have answered the call, and stand with you on that line, in so many places around this globe.
Lest we not forget the sacrifices, and the hardship that those who walk on the front lines, and their families at home face every day. I don't care about the political arguments about why we have you there, and that is not your battle. Your battle is to be strong, brave, achieved the objective, and to bring yourself and your teams home, safe and in one piece.
In that, I wish you God speed, and I thank you for standing on that line, as so many have done before, with honour and pride.
Just my .02 from an Geezer Glide kinda guy (yes, I'm 39 and proud of my Geezer Glide)- -
I'd go with the King - - The Deluxe is nice and all and looks good around town, but I gotta admit, I like the looks of the King better - -for me, I think if you plan on touring alot, the King would be better on the highway (and of course long stretches of fabulous back roads) for a longer travel- -
Anyway, good luck in your choice!
BTW - - Thanks for doing the do for our country as others have already mentioned!
I'm laughing Babs......I've changed my order three times in the two weeks I've been home on leave. I had changed it to the RKClassic but I changed it back to the Deluxe. I went to Smithfield, NC three days ago so I could see the deluxe in vivid black since that was the color I originally ordered and my wife and I could not stop smiling and grinning. We said nothing---just grinned. That bike is sooooo pretty. Since I've ordering from Iraq..I can change my mind as much as I want because they wont build the bike until December so it will be in Fayetteville in Feb. I'm laughing because I just saw two RKClassics about 10 minutes ago. They are so much bigger and that couple looked so comfortable. My riding will be 90% local...so the deluxe is great for that....and it looks sporty. This is the bike that speaks to me.....then once I think about the difference in price (pennies)....I say, "why not the RKClassic"
I leave to go back to Iraq tomorrow morning.....we'll talk
