VSS Sensor
When you guys change the VSS sensor are you having to remove the starter so you can get at it, if not what are you using to get in there? I can poke my fingers in there and that is about it. I just got back from a trip making a circle around the states and twice during that time the cruise shut off, the speedometer went to zero, the odometer did not work and the 6th gear light went out. It was fine after I shut the ignition off and restarted it. I want to clean the sensor but if it is going to be a pain I'll probably just replace it and be done with it.
09 SG. I may be able to use a ball head allen wrench to take the bolt out but it looks like I might just strip the head trying to do that. I might be able to hold the bolt with pliers when I put it back in. I'm not sure the risk and the trouble is worth it when just two easy to get to bolts should release the starter so I can move it out of the way. I'm not sure but I think there might be an O ring on the starter that might get messed up. I'm talking myself into removing the starter.
2009 remove starter- no big deal.
disconnect battery first.
when doing battery cables; - first
when reinstalling - last
good chance to inspect the battery cables
