The stock seat on my '12 FLTK is not as comfortable as I would like. I'm looking for a seat that will keep me comfortable on the long haul trips. Must have or be able to use a driver backrest. I would like some input on the Hammock, Road Sofa, Zepplin or others. Air or gel is fine if it works, don't think I need heat. What say you?
..... i've been running the RoadSofa for several years.
..... just did the run from Colorado to eastern Nebraska last week, round trip over 3 days, 500 miles a day on the road
......... no issues w/comfort, could'a gone on several hundred more miles w/o a problem.
I just did 2400 miles round trip on a hammock...great seat little wide but great seat no azz hurt plenty of slide up and back when you adjust your backrest kinda like a recliner......just my opinion for what its worth.....the people that ride miles will have good things to say about their seats...listen and then pick one
I have a dual hammock seat I will be selling shortly. Only used it for a few short rides. I also have an adjustable back rest bracket I will be selling too. All in excellent condition
It took me a long time after spending xx amount of $ on my Mustang but I've got an appointment with MCC for the double memory foam, I just can't see spending more $ on trial and error with seats. Now that I've finally made peace with doing it, having the seat reworked is the way to go.
The Corbin dual tour works for me. However the GF hates it. She prefers the stock ultra seat. More padding. It doesn't work for me so We got a Rider only hammock seat. She still has the stock ultra ride and the Hammock is much better than the stock seat. For solo use the Corbin will do 800 miles a day if needed.
I like my Hammock. Go to your Harley dealer and grab a Hammock Demo seat put on your scoot and take an all day ride. It will not cost you a thing. The only way to know if a seat is right for you is to try it out on a long ride.
I just bought the Road Zepplin a couple months ago, paid @ $1200.00 for the seat, rider back rest and trunk back rest and sorta wished I had saved money and got the Hammock. The Zeppelin is comfortable, but sits quite a bit higher and wider. And of course I had put the 14 inch Monkey Bars on before I got the seat, so should have got the 16's, but will live with the 14's.
