07 fuel filter
Changed the fuel filter from in the tank and changed to normal rubber fuel line hose. Now I either have twice as good fuel mileage or I messed something up. The fuel gauge works, it is dropping but I have 119 miles on half a tank. Now again not complaining but just curious if it is accurate. Any thoughts? Fyi, first time changing, 30k miles, was pretty dirty.

Which fuel hose did you change to regular fuel line? You need to have submersible quality fuel hose if youre going to deviate from HD parts otherwise it will deteriate and create a blockage and/or blow the line. Curious to why you had to change a line anyway, it can be done without removing a hose.
That seems about right for the gauge, once it gets below half it drops quickly.

On the 07 you get a kit that comes with the filter, new short hose and new clamps. And of course then have to replace the gasket under the bib and replace ten screws that have a plastic washer already on them. 90 bucks for a 30 dollar filter.
