IT Guy, rollilng the throttle forward while the engine is running does not actuate the temp control but it will tell youif the feature is turned on, if the cruise light comes on green when you do that it is on, if it comes on red it is off. To turn the feature on or off (I leave mine on), turn the ignition on but do not start the bike, roll the throttle forward, if the cruise light comes on green it is on, do it again and it will turn off.
Do you use this product? Or know someone that does? I assume it's water proof? Anyone actually see a change from using it? I like that it can stay on after you shut the motor down to still blow air over the jugs. Interesting.
Thanks for that link.
Yes, I just got mine last week after reading about em here and checking out his website, I'd wanted one for months. as you usually have to make a deposit to reserve one,He sells out as fast as he can produce em. Saw on his site he had a few left in early July, I sent a deposit and recieved my invoice the next day,Two days later it arrived express mail! wow! oh and got a discount just for having a HDForums membership! The quality is as good as everyone says it is. Took the bike out with in for a torture test down the beaches,90deg afternoon,30-35mph speed limits, slow stop-n-go traffic. long lights, pedestrian crosswalks, etc... my CHT never went over 250. would have been 300+. and it looks pretty "cool" too.

I've got the FCS fans and they are BY FAR the single best remedy to heat you can do for your bike. These and an oil cooler and you'll never give heat another thought.
Oil temps are about 30* lower with these fans. I haven't had my temps exceed 240* since they were installed (and that was crawling in heavy Los Angeles traffic jams for long periods on a 95* day - prior to the FCS fans in the same situation I'd be at 270-280*).
Typically on a 95* day the bike runs about 210* to 220* when moving. Only that one time did it hit 240* and that was in brutal stop n go traffic crawling along on city streets in LA.
How are you reading the temps of these engines, anyways? Oil dip sticks? Those dipsticks are NOTORIOUS for being pieces of crap. Dudes bike stayed 210 because it was probably malfunctioning.
Do NOT layer the engine with chrome. That's passe anyways and DOES trap heat.
I like the Wards fans better than most, because the Wards fans cool the areas on top of the heads and not the lower cylinders like parade fans do. I recommend one.

JEScustom Accents oil temp dipstick gauge. Very accurate.
OOOOOhhh I like that! Maybe that can take place of the ever so accurate air temperature on the SG.
SG's come factory with the big oil cooler, and along with these fans should keep it pretty cool. Is that a gauge that goes into the fairing?

No. It goes in place of oil dipstick and it is very accurate for reading oil temperature.

No this is a Dipstick gauge, it replaces the stock dipstick.
I do wish they made this along with a matching mechanical oil pressure gauge as a pair that could be mounted on the bars!
