The EITMS is only there for your comfort, not to protect the engine. You can sit your bike out in the hot sun and let it idle until it runs out of gas. It will not overheat (that's how the MoCo tests them).
Ya plus I still have the original factory oil in it so maybe once I hit 1000 miles and put some fresh Synthetic in there might help with heat a little.
Hopefully it won't be necessary to have the EITMS kick on at all. That would be Ideal.
Ya no problem. I came from a softail and a world of difference to the Street Glide. Can't keep the smile off my face when I see it or ride it.
You can also look into some synthetic oil.
plug inserted here= AMSOIL will be my choice once I hit 1000 miles.
I have tried the Syn3 in my softail. But for the money might as well by Amsoil.

My average temps dropped 15 degrees after switching from Dino to Syn3 on my last bike, a Deuce. I continue to run the Syn3 on the RK.
Oil temp is NOT engine temp. Does NOT matter how accurate it is. And I still doubt the accuracy of an oil gauge to accurately measure the temperature that is NEEDED to be read. The engine temp senor is in the back primary side of the front HEAD and has NOTHING to do with oil temps. If a bike is so hot, that one is worried, one needs a tune, anyways.
The Wards fans cools the areas that NEED to be cooled for keeping ping in check and ETIMS out of the picture.
Folks that jump into a thread to post I am an idiot gets the idiot treatment... How do YOU know the accuracy of you fancy oil gauge? You yourself? Not marketing hype? Not what a MFG tells you, how do YOU know it is right? I am questioning what you personally have done to check it?
And... just because your oil gauge reads nothing that matters... I WAS trying to show the OP that he may be worried over nothing... because oil temp gauges ARE notorious for false readings, as compared to actual engine temp, (even doubt EITHER dudes have your perfect gauge.......,) and especially his friend's gauge..
Wurk Truk is right (he's always right), oil temp is useless information. Get a module that can access the engine temp sensor data and give you a display, like a Power Vision or similar, and forget that retarded dipstick.
I have a 96 with what I think is a pretty fair tuned Stage 1, no fans and I get 248-255 engine temps off the sensor in 90F weather cruising at 55 ish. And....my bike is chrome covered up the waazoo (i'm in a constant condition of passé-ness )
I would be surprised if someone could get 210F! That is one cool running engine!!! The MOCO could forget about needing water cooled in the future for EPA if they could actually ship an engine that ran that cool!

My bike is a 2012 Electra Glide Classic with stage one done. It has the screamin eagle high flo air cleaner kit, vance and hines dresser duals with screamin eagle mufflers, and power commander 5. It constantly runs at around 250 degrees (on the LED dip stick). My friends 06 Road Glide is built from a 96 to a 107. He is running rineharts (4 inch), stage one air cleaner, and not sure on the fuel management. He has the dash mounted oil temp gauge kit installed.
I also checked last night to see if I could turn the rear cylinder cut off on and off. I turned the bike on (not started) and rolled the throttle forward. Nothing happened. I started the bike and rolled it forward and nothing happened. I get no indicator either time showing me it was on or off. I am guessing it is set through the ECM somehow. As long as it is working properly I am good. It just worried me the first time it did it and I was thinking something was going on with the bike. Most time if the bike gets that hot on me (275ish) I will pull over for a while. I have no problem taking a break and letting the bike take one also....
I mean really, you are and ITGUY and you couldn't figure out a search on engine temps on this forum? It's probably only been discussed a zillion times.
I didn't intend for my response to be taken as a slight to you, I mention oil temps because 90% of riders don't have a cyl head temp gauge to refer to. Yes, Cyl Head Temp is actually the most appropriate measurement to watch, but very few of us has a CH temp gauge.
An oil temp gauge gives you a relative measurement because the hotter the motor is running, the higher your oil temps will go. It's maybe not 100% direct relationship, but it's close enough. If your CH temps are sky high then your oil temps will follow along with that.
Air cooled motors are also OIL COOLED. If the oil temps are sky high then the oil is not going to be able to carry away heat from the parts (because the oil itself is hot as hell).
These issues are best addressed from multiple directions - air/fuel ratio that is not too lean, an oil cooler to bring down oil temps, and FCS fans are currently the best thing going as far as cooling those heads when the bike isn't moving or is going slowly.
As to the JES oil temp gauge, it's very accurate - have tested it in water with a regular thermometer as a gauge.
The H-D digital dipsticks I'd be very suspicious of I agree...
