"For those riders who frequently find themselves in riding conditions where the vehicle is subjected to prolonged idle conditions or traffic congestion, an optional dealer enabled engine calibration is available. This calibration offers limited rear cylinder cooling with the vehicle stopped while the engine is left at idle.
This option is available for original equipment engine calibrations only. Motorcycles are delivered from the factory with the engine idle temperature management disabled. Engine idle temperature management can be enabled and disabled by your dealer."
I believe this is a setting which disables the spark to the rear cylinder during idle, allowing the rear cylinder to pump only air. It turns off automatically when the throttle is opened.
On newer touring models you(owner) can enable/disable by yourself, no need for the dealer. Other models, I'm not sure about. This isn't something you activate as needed at a stoplight, either enable it or leave it off. I leave mine enabled, designed to do a job and works as advertised. The first time it shuts down the cylinder and you are not ready for it is a "WTF" moment!!

Not the spark but the fuel to the rear cylinder is shut off.
The dealer demo mine on my RK. He said it kill spark fire but still is injecting gas which cools engine. It vibrated badly running on 1 Cly but as soon as he gave throttle it started firing again. It's just to help in stand still traffic. I roll my throttle forward until light comes on green to turn on.

Right?. I cant get my bike into neutral while running for the life of me. It did "once", while I did a rolling stop and and a turn. I hit the gas only to go nowhere and almost fell over.

Reason: goof
I enabled mine last week and it kicked in Friday afternoon in light traffic with my wife on board. She didn't like the shake or sound at all.
I was surprised at how quickly the engine got hot enough to enable the system on a cool afternoon with low humidity.
