HD batteries are as good as it gets 6-7 years out of them.
Most do not ride all that much and sitting is hard on batteries.
If you use a proper tend they will last longer.
But there is another reason to use one.
Your charging system will last much longer trouble free if you keep your battery up.
Both bike plugged in for 18 months more than once while away. Tenders are not chargers they work in a different manner no reason you can not leave them plugged in long term.
