I recently installed S&S 551 cams and SE adjustable pushrods. Seems like since then when I start the bike cold the idle runs up, drops down, runs up and so on til the bike is warm then settles out. Any ideas? Thanks
If you have a flash tuner turn the warmup enrichment to a lower number about 20% lower. When you install cams the efficiency at low rpms gets very low and the engine misfires. Doesn't need as much fuel. If you have a addon tuner suchas pcv lower the numbers in the 0 column throttle position about 5 points. If it is -10 change to -15. Do this from the 750 thru 1250. This may cause it to idle little faster once warmed up but probably not. The add on tuners don't have the adjustment for warmup enrichment.
To do it in the program you will need to hook the PV to the computer with the usb cable. If you haven't done that yet, you will have to install the WIN/PV program from the CD or download the correct version from Dynajet and install it. After the program is installed you need to do a update to the software and firmware. To do this you have to have internet access and the PV plugged to the PC and not the bike or atleast the bike switch not turned on. Go to the All Programs and select the Power Vision program and the select the PV Client update. It will tell you to hookup the PV to USB cable tell it ok and it will check for latest up dates and show you the ones that need updating. After you get this done you can open the Win/PV software and with the PV hooked to the computer, bike off, click get tune tab and select it from the list of 6 slots on the PV dashboard. After you get it to your computer I always do a save as and give it a new name as it will be untitled. Once you get it open on the left side click the fuel tab and select the Warm Up Enrichment. Here attached are the settings we are using on a 555 touring. I also attached the map you may want to try. Don't know your exhaust but this one works with 2 in 1 in 2 type exhaust. Won't do to well on True duals or Two in one. You can copy the Spark tables into your map and the cranking and warmup enrichment will all work. If you have a different exhaust or you aren't running a 2010 to 2013 touring I probably have a map for different setup. Let me know. If needed you can go to the Dynajet web site and look up all kinds of training tutorials for the PV.
