Default Saddlebags ?

Can someone please explain the differences between the Police bags and the normal touring bags.

It looks like they have different hinge and lock mechanisms.

Is one better or more robust thant the other.

Thanks

Paul

The main differenc is that the police bags have the "hockey puck" on top that makes it easier to open.

Other than that the bottom of the bags (meaning the bag themselves) are exactly the same.

BB06FLHX is correct. They are the exact same bags, from the same mold. The lid opening hardware is the only difference. I have the police style bags and like the functionality over the standard bags. I did change the hocky puck style closure to the puch button style from squad fitters. A much cleaner design, plus still has the top opening function.

I am sorry but that hockey puck destroys the look of the bags

Thanks people, thats the info I wanted, still undecided which to go for. I'll have to hang onto the classic bags until I choose.

the police bags were designed to be able to be opened 'on the go'.

I always wondered if a person could make a gas tank out of them the top latch looks like a gas cap. all you would need is a bladder to fit inside, for some looooong distance riding. Look at it this way, fuel in one side and your favorite beverage in the other. How much better could it get???
