So I bought some Rinehart 3.5" mufflers off of ebay for my Ultra Classic. They look decent, have a few nicks here and there, no big deal. I went to install them and the inlet on the mufflers are HUGE! The stock pipes are 1 3/4", and the mufflers are 2".
Anyone run into this issue before? Can I make adapters for these mufflers? I don't want to expand the stock pipes if I can avoid it.
Any suggestions?
I have seen this.My buddy bought my sons Reinharts to replace his V&H oval duals and had the same issue, he had to buy the bigger headpipes, not sure if they make an adapter though.
What you have bought are not slip ons. They are the mufflers that fit Rineharts True Dual set up. I also have a set of 3.5" mufflers from a set of Rinehart True Duals that were on my 08 Ultra. Like you I thought I would use em as slip ons on my current scoot..Ain't happenin.

You can check with a local muffler shop to see if they have any bushings that will reduce 2" to 1 3/4".
Not to hijack the thread but I have a set of Rinehart slipons 1 3/4 new in the box if anyone is interested. Chrome with black tips.....
