I just had my 10K service done yesterday. I sat in a chair and watched a trained tech with 23 years of HD experience as he worked on my bike for almost 2 1/2 hours. It was amazing the things they do and check! I'm all for saving money and also take pride in doing things myself. But this is my $25,000 baby!
The best part of this? It cost me $26.32 when all said and done! That was the difference in cost in Syn 3 over conventional oil. When I bought my bike they gave me a choice between a free leather coat or free maintenance for as long as I own the bike. So not only did I get the 10K service done by a pro, I also have money left for chrome!
I know what the manual says. Ive done my own 1 and 5 k service myself but out of all the critical fasteners, what do u guys consider the most critical fasteners to be torqued

In the HD manual. It's such an easy job if you have the tools and a bit of time. Also, by doing the service yourself I think you get to understand how stuff works and how the bike is put together. Not a bad thing.

Very nice. They did not offer anything for free when I bought mine. So for the ones that do not have the free service option. Doing it ourselves saves a lot of money. Plus you know your bike inside and out. They want almost $360.00 here for an oil change.
