Default Windshield for 2013 FLTRX

Need advice for a windshield for my new 2013 FLTRX. I am 6'2" and the stock "windshield" is doing nothing for me. I like the darkened look of the stock shield but need something higher.

I really like the 12" Klockwerks Flare that I have on my bike. I have tried the 12" LongRide shield and the 12" Harley and hands down like the Klockwerks for both styling and function. I am 6'1" still running the stock seat. Check out the forum Roadglide.org there is a ton of windshield info and opinions on that site. I also am riding a 2013 FLTRX.

Dark smoke 14" Windvest would probably be about right for you. I'm 5'10' and use the 12". Lowers will also help a lot to keep the turbulence at bay from below.

Shoot Windvest an E-mail, they have really good customer service.

I am 6'2" and also got nothing out of the stock windshield. Before you try a bunch of different windshields try the harley fork baffle and fork wind deflectors, you might find you dont have to replace the stock shield. I just went from a 7" windsplitter to an 8" LRS ultra. The winsplitter worked well but I still had an issue with my sunglasses jumping around at highway speed. Got a good deal on a 8" LRS ultra and it solved all of my wind issues, however I did order the medium tint and in hindsight I wish I would have gone light tint or clear or maybe a 7". Going uphill I have to look through it and for some reason going from tint to clear and back again bothers me.

Whoops, just noticed you ride a shark. My opinion might not be worth much then.........

Forum sponsor Long Ride Shields makes a windshield for Road Glides called the "Mako". I ordered one and it is amazing. It's like I upgraded my stereo -- there's no buffeting anymore whatsoever. Price can't be beat either especially with the HDForum discount.

I bought the 12" and I'm 6' so you might like the 13" or 14" at 6'2".

You need a MadStad. Tried the KW it didn't work well for me. Got a MadStad in 13" dark and it rocks. Fugly? Absolutely. Does it work great? Yup.

I am same height as you, have a 15" windvest with a hammock seat which places you higher than the stock seat. I would try 14". Great product.
