Default FLHT tie down points

First time I have hauled two touring bikes before. I have tried several points to tie them down, the most secure and less side to side wobble I get is from the lower handle bars. Will it hurt to compress the front forks a little bit? I'm just a bit worried they may bang against each other the other ways I have tried.

I used one of these a couple of times. I didnt tie the back good and it danced . Brand new windshield got scratched up on right side. Next year, left side got scratched.

I go around the forks, just above the fender bolts. Does not compress the forks. The back I go around passenger foot board mounts.
