Fuel pump time?

Fuel pump time?

I have a 2003 FLHTCI. Mods should make no difference for this question. There has been an occasional noise that almost sounds like a vacuum leak. It's the fuel pump I think. Is it normal, when I have the fuel cap off, to see fuel circulating in the tank when the fuel pump pressurizes? Or do I need a fuel pump, and/or repair leaky hoses?

If you hear noise and see fuel swirling when the pumps pressurized, that is a sign that you have a hole in your fuel line (I have heard of this happening to quite a few people). Most likely you will only have to replace the line. If so while youre in there I would replace the fuel filter unless you just recently changed it.

Yep fuel lines rub the inside of the tank, and get pin holes, the replacements are shorter so they don't rub the tank. The replacements are also $150.00
