Travelling from California to Sturgis and I am currently in Salt Lake City. Started hearing a low groaning sound when I am in first and pull the clutch coming to a stop. It is the only time I hear it. I would love to take it to a shop but everything is closed on sundays out here. Does anyone know what the sound might be and can I limp to Sturgis 10 hours away and have someone look at it.

No clue but you might want to try not banging it all the way down to first before you stop. Grab the clutch while you're in 2nd or 3rd and as you're about to stop slowly bang it down to first. Whatever it is, at least this would put less stress on everything till you get there and can have it looked at.
I am hearing it a little in second gear I think. No problems shifting or accelerating. Only when cluth is engaged and coming to a stop. Very frustrating because its either wait in salt lake till monday and cancel sturgis. Or limp 400 miles into Casper Wy and have someone look at it on monday. I only started hearing it yesterday.

Based on the info we have, I would ride to Sturgis and have it looked at there.
Just wanted to say thanks for the help from my issues last week. I ended up finding a HD dealer in Green River WY and here was the outcome.
They replaced the inner bearing and bearing roller on the primary. Something got jacked in there, but lucky for me they had the knowledge and parts to fix it. Unfortunately we had one day lost.
