Default "Tink-tink" Sound

Just got back from my morning ride. Heard a noise that sounded like metal to metal with a 'tink-tink' kind of sound to it. Either coming from the front end of the bike or the area of the engine. Couldn't be sure. Anybody else experience this or know what the source is? Thanks. 06 Dyn Low Rider.

Was it a constant sound, when did you hear it, did it folllow the rpms of the bike, was it something you could recreate.

The frequency of the sound did not seem to increase or decrease with the rpm's of the motor. It did seem to be louder if I went over a bump or a rough patch of road. Pulled over and checked front brake caliper and rotor for tightness--ok. Checked clutch lever (although I do have aproblem with it rattling this was not the cause), checked brake lever--ok.

I often hear a similar sound coming from my exaust (SEII Slip-Ons). Haven't mentioned it here before, cuz I wasn't able to come up with words to describe it. 'Tink-Tink' is pretty close.

Check your kickstand, you may need to adjust the rubber part that it touches.

I got am similar sound when i first got the my 06 fxdbi and at the first service dealer said it was front end not being tightend properly, i still here it from time to time but not as bad. i would get it going over bumps but mostlywhile braking heavily, i will be bringing it up again when i go there to talk about the injectors.

I don't know if you wear a helmet or not, but I kept hearing a rattle, and it took me about a month to figure out it was the visor on my helmet.

I do wear a helmet. I don't think that's the noise I hear. When I put my head nearer the motor when I first hear while riding it seems to be easier to hear. Haven't quite pinpointed it to be coming from the motor or the front end of the bike. Will keep after it. Thanks for the posts.
