Recently had cams installed along with new adjustable pushrods, SE oil pump, and billet plate. Just got back from 2100 mile journey down to florida and back. Noticed alot of noise coming from the side of the motor where the work was done, Reading what you guys have posted leads me to believe that the pushrods may have gotten out of adjustment. Could that be the problem or could it be something else like the tensioner? Thanks for input
It's possible they didn't adjust the rods to sit deep enough in the lifter.... some people go a few flats more than called for and swear it cuts down on valve noise.
it's possible a rod came loose and lost adjustment (unlikely, but possible)
It could also be the cam..... high performance cams will sound different based on lift, duration, etc.
Maybe nothing is wrong at all and that is the sound of the new set-up....
I'd talk it over with whoever did the work... see what they think...
Good luck
