So got the rockouts in this weekend and the upper clicking is gone but when one noise goes another rears its head. I have had a fluttering, almost clanging noise for some time and I decided to take it to the dealer. He took it for a ride and said yes there is valve train noise and asked what I had done. I told him, rockouts, and S&S 510 chain cames with tensioners. He asked if I changed out the lifters and put in adjustable rods. Yes to the rods and no to the lifters. Said I really should have done that and also perhaps the new adjustable rods should have been drilled out a little because in his words, "its sounds a little dry". So ok, I'm in up to my *** on this now so what is a good affordable lifter. He said I could go stock, SE or fueling. This bike has 43,00 Km on it. Cams and tensioners, and cam bearings are the only thing done to the inside of this. I know most expensive usually is best but I'm looking for honest answers and ill go with what the majority says.
I'd go with S&S premiums, Feulings, JIMs, or SE...in that order...but I doubt that there is much difference between them. I believe someone mentioned in another thread that the S&S standards are made offshore. But still better than OE.

Veekness, I know the OE lifters up here in Canada are $40.00 a piece and was told SE are about $75.00, Fueling, S&S are more again. What are the advantages of the higher end lifters? Also, I know ironheads and Shovelheads with solid lifters, But I have never adjusted hydraulic. Do they have to be pumped up or filled with oil when I put them in or do I put them in and adjust the pushrods while the lifter is on the bottom of the cam dry?
