I can't speak to the seat positioning on the UC, but as far as the SG goes, the Sundowner seat positions you very close to the same location as the stock seat (that is, the same vertical and horizontal plane); however, the rider portion of the Sundowner is wider under the thighs, which slightly increases the distance that your feet have to travel to reach the ground. Am I making sense?

If you're not flat-footing on the stock SG seat, then you may have an issue.

Thanks. I should be OK then. I've got enough leg to easily flat foot my scoot now. A little wider shouldn't be a problem. Looks like it's time for a trip to the dealer to try one out.

Ride Safe

Yep. Best way to know is to try one. Good luck!

Harley has made it pretty easy to choose the best seat for you.

Stop into your dealership, bring passenger along, and sit on some of the new and used bikes. You will find something that should you think should work out.

Most dealers have a wall of demo seats you can try out for a couple hours. Switch seats, and go for a ride. When you come back you will have a pretty good idea of what will work out for you.

Top touring choices seem to be Sundowner, or more expensive Hammock seats.

If you want to shop aftermarket, it is much more difficult and potentially more expensive.

I had my stock 08 Streetglide seat reworked by Brian at Stich on Time, St. Petersburg, Florida right after I bought my bike. He uses all of that exotic memory foam stuff and did a fabulous job, and I believe was around 200.00 dollars. I wanted to keep the OEM fabric look of the SG seat. His number is 727-526-7242. Really great quality and mine is 5 plus years old.

Another Sundowner fan here. As FenderGuy mentioned, it was wider than my stock RK seat. I could flat foot but didn't have any bend in my knee so stopping on a grade could be a challenge. I had the driver's portion of the seat narrowed by Mean City Cycles and it fits me great now. Very comfortable and my wife loves it.

Thanks man. Since I live in Tampa, I'll have to check him as well.
