Got by the dealer today and to my surprise they had one in stock, opened it up (70900283) and it has the pan mounted sender unit. Thanks to all for your input.
My AutoMeter reads 220 at the 12 'oclock position, pretty sure they come in black. sender mounts in pan.
fabrik8r -- Did you go with AutoMeter because it's more accurate and has a consistent scale, or some other reason? Also, are your other gauges OEM? If so, would you mind posting a pic of your dash showing all the gauges?
I installed the OEM oil temp gauge on my 09 SG a few years ago, knowing its notorious inaccuracy. I thought about going w/ the AutoMeter but decided not to because I did not want mismatched gauges. That's bugged me ever since. Now I want accuracy more than match.

My first priority was accuracy, then readability, and lastly appearance. The color matches great, the big difference is the bezel, but honestly after a few years and several thousand miles, I don't even notice it anymore. lol.
