I just bought a wrap front fender for my road king. I was wondering if it is possible or has anyone done it. I would like to lower the fender some so less sidewall is showing. It seems that there is room.
Not sure I would lower it, if I did I wouldn't lower it much.
Keep in mind you need a minimum 1/4 to 3/8 inch clearance for tire growth at higher speeds. I have seen paint burned on fenders from the tire growing and rubbing inside the fender.
here is a pic. I have just seen other wrap fender on 18 inch wheels where it is much closer to tire. Attachment 327960
Yea that looks way too high. Even if you drill new mounting holes to lower that fender, you'd be able to see the original holes. Maybe you need different mounting brackets?
i think I am going to have my nephew who does fab work trim some of the side mounting bracket and drill new holes. I knew it could be lowered. Dont you think that looks way high.
Here is another 18 inch wheel with same fender. I was wanting that look.
