What is the best and simple tuner? I am looking to buy a tuner that will be simple, make my scoot (09 ultra with 103 upgrade) run cooler AND give me performance... What is it? Reading has me VERY confused.
I am very pleased with my SEST, ( Screaming Eagle Street Tuner) 249.00 minus 15% from the dealer. I have a 2010 Limited 103 with a stage 1 upgrade, SE air cleaner , Catless Fuel Moto pipes, SE slip ons. Runs great, nice and cool , no issues .
You've got a lot of varied advice here, some of it very good. However, I agree with mainboom. Whatever tuner you buy, get your bike tuned by a reputable dyno guy. You won't believe the difference you will see and feel.
I've been running a Fuelpak for a while and had decided to pick up a Power Vision. Took the advice of many here and called Fuelmoto.
1. REALLY nice folks to deal with
2. Including free handle bar mount and visor
3. Including their map preloaded for my bike
4. They've giving me a trade-in/credit when I send my Fuelpak into them
So, I'm happy. Just gotta' wait for the Fed Ex man now!
The problem with a "reputable dyno guy" is finding one. Recommendations from your buddies are questionable sometimes too I found out. Think about it, they just spent $400+ for a tune...heck yeah it was it worth it they'll say, when maybe it really wasn't.
The next most affordable and simple option in my opinion would be the Fuel Moto Microtuner, which accepts Power Commander V maps, and Jamie will hook you up with a great map.
