Default Air breather

Looking to change the air cleaner set up

What is the difference between the Screaming Eagle stage one and the Ventilator.
The only reason for doing this is to let the engine breath a little better and I will not be doing anything else engine wise

Thanks

The stage 1 is a basic open air cleaner upgrade, round, fits behind the stock cover. The ventilator has its own cover, and from what I understand it does a better job controlling oil blow by that can come out of the breathers. The ventilator is oval. The ventilator costs quite a bit more as well, but give you a different look along with a open air cleaner. Either one is an upgrade to the stock part.

And without changing exhaust and adding a tuner, the improvement will be negligible.

Then I hope you have a tuner ready when you change the air cleaner. You can get by with changing one or the other, but not both. Your bike will really respond to a retune!

As long as you didn't change headers, only slipons and hiflo a/c, you can get by with a stage 1 downlad from your dealer.

Talked to wrench. He recommended stage one air cleaner and V&H fuelpak.

Just installed the Fuelmoto stage 1 air cleaner, open head pipe and a power vision tuner. Went on a long trip. Blew oil all over the rt side of the bike from the AC. It kept blowing oil till I had to add oil at a QT low. Added 1/2 QT still blows oil out the breather. That style AC leaves a lot to be desired. IMO. I wished 1 had went with the heavy breather or ventilator. What a burnt on nasty mess.

Then it sounds like something else is going on in there. Warrants a second look anyway.

I have a simple setup consisting of Fuel Moto Dyno Tuned mufflers, Fuel Moto Pro Billet Stage 1 air cleaner and Nightrider FL-XiED-10 kit. I have no issues whatsoever. Just sayin'...

The Arlen Ness Big Sucker is a reasonably priced, popular air cleaner. The front part of the 'football' cover fits or Kuryakyn makes this one.
