Default Progressive shocks by bikers choice

Has anyone tried these? Looking at a set with heavy springs in Chrome and black for 188.00.

jcmotors has them for 165.00 with free shipping. I havent tried them but I suspect they are like the prog 412's which are comparable to stock on a dyna. Id do some research before ordering the heavy duty shocks, theres a lot of posts on the dyna forum about them having a harsh ride

Those look like what I just put on my FLTR. Mine aren`t bikers choice brand, but they look about the same. The stock air shocks were POS`s for me, the air would blow out of them and I would be bottoming out over bumps all the time, no matter how much air I put in them.

The Progressive's with HD springs gave me just what I needed, more pre-load, no more bottoming. Next step for me is the fork springs for Progressive and my bagger will track like a sport bike in turns.

I am pleased with them, they are doing what I need, were low cost, and I installed them myself n about a 1/2 hour with a borrowed torque wrench

BTW I have Progressive 412`s w/ HD springs I paid about the same price.

Hope this helps

I'm gonna use them on a bagger and I weigh 275 and the ol is about 150 so I figured we qualified for the heavy springs...

Is the stock ultra shock a 12.5 or a 13 inch?

I suggest you save your money until you can afford some top shelf shocks. Then you will be certain of the results and you can both enjoy a great ride!

I will never be willing to pay the price for top shelf shocks. I can't possibly justify the $$ for a minor improvement in ride. I will pay 200.00 for a minor improvement. If you have the coin for high dollar shocks, that's fine by me, but personally, I could spend those dollars better elsewhere.

I use to fell the same way, "There is no way a $700 pair of shocks are that much better" boy was I wrong, before our summer trip from Chicago to Key West my wife bought me a set of 944's for my birthday, where have these been all my life! the ride is like night and day, even in the Chicago area with our great roads, I have yet to bottom out with me and her on, me=240 her=165, this is the best upgrade I've done, and I've added a lot!

On your touring bike $188 shocks will ride like...$188 shocks. Might even be worse than stock HD - do yourself a favor & invest in something that's going to "improve" ride vs. negate.
