I just bought a set of lightly used Vance and hines tru duals for my 2011 street glide. The guy I bought them from assured me they would fit my bike. When I got home I noticed the o2 bungs are up near the head..
And the mounting looks different. I found a slip in the bottom of the box saying 2009 road king. Looks like 2009 has a different p/n than 2010 and newer. I got a smokin deal on these pipes.... can I make them work? Can I reroute the 02 sensors??? Maybe fab up a mounting bracket??? Or are the pipes all together different??
If I remember correctly, and someone will certainly chime in if I'm wrong, the 09s had the larger O2 sensors in the header near the exhaust outlet. The 10s and up have the 12mm sensors in the header just upstream of the cats. You should be able to plug the 18mm holes and they sell a rivet type tool which will form new holes after drilling a pilot hole.
I see Krome Werks sells exhaust that fits 09 and newer...but it says 10 and newer requires there $30 kit...wire extensions and 12mm to 18mm bung adapters.... maybe that will work??
