Default need help, Jackpot header pipe

I was changing my header pipe and noticed there was a lead type mesh inside the crossover pipe. It got damaged and I had to take it out to make it fit. Well now the pipe fits too loose. Will my dealer have that or can I just use some high temp silicone in there to seal it up? Thanks in advance

I had to order it, be really careful with that, it is really fragile.

The dealer should have it, and I also used the high temp copper silicone. Mine sealed up nice and was no need to mess with it again.

It's a few bucks at the dealer, and a pain to deal with.... I like the sealant idea...

yea, it kinda bunched up preventing the pipe from going all the way on. Little did I know when I grabbed it with needle nose to pull on it!!

Had problems fitting the crossover to header pipe.

Got a pipe expander tool from Harbor Freight... fifteen bucks or so.

The crossover went on easily with new gasket and new clamps.

Exhaust is tight and the Jackpot system operates and sounds great.

Or you could replace the crossover with Jackpot's full-size crossover. It's got a trick billet gasket that makes pipe installation and removal much easier.

Had I known it was an option, I definitely would have. THis job is turning into a pain in the butt. Getting the flanges and pipes right into the gasket wasn't easy either.

Over the years I have found that several of my HD projects that were supposed to be bunnies turned into bitches.

With my jackpot header, I had to expand the mouth of the crossover pipe. You will need to expand it to a point to where the new round gasket just slides into the crossover mouth without any pressure. If you don't get the pipe expanded to this size, you will again damage/destroy that gasket. You may also want to coat the gasket with silver antiseize, inside and out, before inserting into pipe.

You can use a 1 3/4" OD piece of pipe and work that into the mouth of the crossover. That will get you expanded enough. Or a tail pipe expander sold at Harbor Freight or auto parts stores will work without all the banging that I had to do. Probably best to get the expander that will expand a little over 1 3/4".

You have to have this gasket or you will have exhaust leaks. Then guess what? You get to take it all off all over again and fix it right. So do it right the first time and forget the idea about not using the gasket.
