After a few years, the lid rubber seal can get kinda stiff and in a good rain storm or directed water from a hose, I'm sure some water can get in.
Just a few weeks ago, I rode up to Detroit. I was in rain from Virginia up to Pittsburg. Some of it was hard driving rain. On a gas stop I had to get something out of the bag and I noticed a few things were wet.
Dumb question but do the hard bags on a bagger leak anywhere, ie the lid???
If you ride long enough and it is raining hard enough there will be some moisture forced up and past the rubber seal.
This past June I rode for 10 hours and 500 miles in a downpour and found some moisture in the bottom of the hard bags.
My clothes where inside the liners that came with the Ultra , so it wasnt all that bad.
