I really like the quality of the HD - especially with the mike behind the face shield. On a ride this weekend, my wife tapped my on the shoulder at least 4 or 5 times to tell me she was inplugged again. I will try the hair dryer tonight, and also the zip tie.

I just streached mine. Running it through my hands in a effort to lenghten it.. It worked for her. Mine I have no problems with. It just takes time to work with it..

Once you set up the the HD CB properly the J&M mic performs fine. I'ts the same technology used in aircraft headsets, just takes getting used to. It's worth it, because the sound is so much better both on intercom and stereo.

No other issues at all - running great, no transmission noise, fantastic bike. AND, the hairdryer trick worked on the headset cords.

I've had never heard about a problem with the J&M headset (mic in particular). I've got one and the wife uses the stock one after she stretched it good for a night or two (god that sounds dirty?).

Anyway i doubt the J&M is really a problem once you've set it up properly. Seems the GW crowd swears by it.

I have both a J&M and a stock headset. They both work well. I use the J&M because it has a longer cord so I don't have this problem. My wife uses the stock and it will pop off once in a while but it is easier for her to plug back in while on the road than it is for me. Other than that they are both fine.

I have an 06 ULtra and J&M headsets. When i press the PTT i get static something terrrible!!! YOu guys keep talking about "setting up the CB". i bought the bike with 1200 miles on it and don't know what you mean by setting up the CB. ON my 95 Ultra the J&M set worked great. HELP!!
