Default Realistic oil drain interval?

Wondering how long you guys are leaving your full synthetic in the crankcase.
I put Redline 20w-50 in my '07, and it has been 3200 miles now. Seems kind of early for a drain on a high quality syn.
Whatcha think?

By the book. Doesn't matter what you use.

I asked Dave, the customer service techie at Redline the same question a few years ago and he said just run it to 5,000 miles and then change it. He said 5,000 miles on Redline is easy on the oil.

If you have any questions about the longevity of the oil, run an oil test. But I doubt you'll have to do it as Redline is THAT good an oil.

Being here in Denver, I ride in the winter when the roads are clear and the temps are 'reasonable'. NO black ice!

I change the engine oil at 5,000 miles with filter and the primary and tranny at 8,000-10,000 miles and that's that.

Redline is really good oil, expensive so let the oil do it's job.

Ive had several Harley's over 70k mi using Harley petroleum changing at 5k miles. Old shovels using H-D 60w, Evo's and Twin Cams with H-D 20W-50 Not sure why you guys pay more for synthetic or why you would dump it early....

Imo it all depends on riding style. Cruising miles are a lot easier on the oil then banging gears and riding hard. Also engine mods affect it. What's ok on a stock motor may not be on a modded one. I run royal purple syn and k&n filters and I change every 1500-2000, because I ride hard and my engine is not stock. To me 50 dollars is cheap insurance on a 5000 engine.

Same reason some folks wax their bikes and some don't. Some store their bikes outside, some in the garage. some folks do their own maintenance, some folks pay mechanics. Some folks spend a lot of money customizing their bikes. Why, because it helps us feel better about our bikes. Simple really, we pay a lot of money for this hobby and how we dote over our bike is half the fun.

Every 5,000 miles for me. I'm pretty sure that's what the book says.

Why is the "oil" such a big mystery with some? It's just not all that hard to deal with. I think the owners manual spells everything out pretty clearly. Doesn't it?
