I like riding with my Ipod. Right now it sits on the fairing "ledge" secured with velcro. This works but I think the interface would be allot nicer with the Ipod secured in my saddle bag I could select playlsts etc with the hand controls right?Does it charge it as well? Then I started thinking I will eventually get a GPS don't most GPSs hold a bunch of MP3s now.Would it make more sense to forgo the Ipod interface and just get a GPS?What kind of interface does the GPS have just touch screen? is it more hassle than it's worth to use it for an MP3 player?
I have both on my SG. But I use the GPS without connecting it to the system.
The bike will charge the Ipod. It also fits in a pocket in the saddle bag so you do not loose any room or is it in the way when packing.
So if you have the GPS plugged into the stereo and you wanted play MP3s on it I imagine it would work like my Ipod does now you would have to select play lists and whatnot using the GPSs touch screen but it would be charging through the bikes DC adapter in the fairing.Does Harley have any interface for the HD Zumo? In other words could you access it with your hand controls?
I'd like to have a GPS but I don't know/thing I have any place to plug it in. So, I use my iPad instead. If I get lost, I pull over and look at the map.
I use an adapter which gets the audio in, and charges.
Do they have such a thing for a last generation Nano? With mine if I have the charging cable in there isn't room for the audio cable and vice versa.I actually thought about grinding the plastic on both cables down some so I could get them both plugged in at the same time.
isimple made the 30 pin that I use for ipod classic, ipod touch 2nd gen, iphone 3, iphone 4s
you connect the other end to power, and it has 2 x rca plugs for left and right, they are connected with a Y cable to a stereo mini plug in the front panel
I'm thinking that if I had a GPS mounted directly in front of me at the bottom of the windshield and it played MP3s and maybe even had XM radio that would be almost as cool as the new infotainment center and way cheaper.
