Default Making The Move from the Soft Side!

I'm sure you guys have all heard the story before lol. I'm trading in my CVO convertible for the new '14 Street Glide Special. I love what they've done with 14 line-up. I love all the gadgets gauges the new stereo & Nav and especially the sand cammo denim paint option. I am a little apprehensive about moving from a softie since that is all I have ever riden. But everything I have read about guys jumping from softies to touring bikes with no regrets I am hoping I will be one of them... your going to be seeing alot of me

You sit in the softie, lower cg,the bike feels a lot lighter than a tourer. Around town,i miss my fxd, but on the highway,no way i could ride 450 miles on a dyna..................like many things in life...........a compromise.

Dude I love that convertible! Now that I got that out they way I agree with what has been said especially test riding the street glide first. Tourers are certainly different but it is a good difference as long as you understand what they are intended for. It is not like you getting a better version of a softail. It is a completely different bike for a completely different market. I've owned two tourers and I could easily do a thousand miles in less than a month. I haven't experienced anything more comfortable than my limited on long trips. Go take a test ride and maybe even rent one for a day to get use to the difference. Good luck and have fun

I came from a Heritage and the big differences were sitting higher on the bike and front end is way heavier. But I absolutely love my SG.

Pulled the trigger this morning went to the dealer checked out the SG Special he had on the floor and ordered mine. He had a black one on factory order and just changed the color to what I want. Basically an even swap for my CVO convertible.

I'm a softie too. I would have any other bike.

What kind of gun did you use?
