Default wind deflectors (FLTRX)

I have and issue with a long beard, and an up draft blowing it in my eyes. I figured it was coming from under the fairing and above the crash bars. So I decided to try to make something to redirect the wind. What does everyone think? I still have to paint them, thinking about painting shark gills on them.
UP 70+mph No more beard blowing up in my eyes.

You can use rustolem camo black it matches pretty well to black denim. That is what I used on my fatboy to touch up a scrape on the fender when I laid it down

Harley sell a pair of wind deflectors that fit each side of the tank, have you tried them? # 57000063.

I have a set of those........ tried running with, and without to compare.

Findings.

They keep bugs from accumulating on the front of your tank. They make bigger bugs launch straight up when they hit them from under the fairing....... Kind of entertaining at times.

They do very little as far as the wind.

Lower fairings work wonders to keep my beard from tickling my nose.

Thumbs up

Thanks shooter, well worth knowing. I have a pair I intend trying behind my batwing, although I don't have a beard to worry about.

That garage of GJW's look kinda big - wonder what his home is like?!

Looks just like GADS(Glide Air Deflector Systems). I don't have them on my RGC, but seems to be a popular solution to the buffeting problem some riders have on their Roadglides. Check out the forum Roadglides.org, a lot of riders there say good things about GADS.

grbrown, I have those wind deflectors but they don't do much. I really could not tell a difference with them on or off. Unfortunately, that's not my personal shop its where I work.

I was going to buy lower fairings, but after riding a roadglide that has them, it wasn't any better. So I decided to try to build something.
Looked at the GADS, but I did not want clear plastic, or to have to buy them. I used some left over 16ga steel, and 2 clamps. I got about 14 dollars in them.
