Accelerate and decelerate hard several times in a row and see if that makes the noise go away. It may be that your primary tensioner has not kept the chain tight enough. Worked for me.
Thx. I will try that in the morning to. I want to also see if fluid temp makes a difference. I do think I did this today but to be sure ill try it again.
I was riding with gnewman when I noticed he fell way behind me. At first I thought he couldn't keep up with me and my mad riding skills...LOL...but it was actually when he first noticed the clunk and slowed down to pay more attention to it. All joking aside now, I rode along side of him for a while to hear it better and it doesn't sound normal to me. It's an ugly clunk, and considering I could clearly hear it while we were traveling along at about 40 mph, with sound of the pipes and wind, it's pretty damn loud.
My thoughts on why it's not normal is if it wasn't doing this for the first 1600 miles why is it doing it now? Unless all 2013 Ultra Classics are doing this, how could it be normal? And if they all are doing this, still doesn't seem right to me. Could be a flaw somewhere.
my 12 streetglide has done this from day one. clunks getting on or off of the gas. this is the most noise i have ever heard out of a primary. my 92 evo is quite as can be. my makes more noise after it gets hot. lousy design.
