2011 Limited is throwing code B1006 on the sp & t sector of the diagnose function. Did the clear thing, ran the bike, code came back.
Translates into " Accessory line over voltage ", has anybody ever seen or heard of this code? Not quite sure where to start chasing this one............
Are you putting it on a battery charger? If so it's likely the charger is bad. If not, have your bikes charging system checked out. It could be faulty regulator.
Have you installed any external Auxillary lights? IE: Saddle bag spoilers w/lights, luggage rack w/light, or any device that connects to the auxillary plugs?......If so you may want to check there first. Something is putting more power where it shouldn't be, also like Bingee said, check the charging system, could be a voltage regulator or a stator.
Thanks for the input guys, haven't added anything electrical lately, and nothing to the acc. switch/plugs. Think it might be time to take it to the dealer.........ugh.
UPDATE...........
Got it checked over at the dealer, turns out it's the Badlands load equalizer for the led turn signals thats spiking when the ignition is turned on. The ECM is set to throw a code whenever it sees 16 volts or over for 5 seconds, apparently the Badlands Equalizer does this when it's first powered up. So it's not dangerous, & won't harm anything. Just wanted to pass that along in case anyone else installs the LED signals with a Badlands EQ.
TMOUT - No disrespect to your dealer, but he is incorrect on the description. A load eq is a passive device. It sinks current, only when power is applied to it. It cannot generate voltage. Something else is going on. It might be something to do with the load eq, but I know for sure it's not making 16V! I would suggest calling or emailing Dan at Badlands. I have worked with him on several issues, he always has had an answer.
The regulator's job is to rectify/regulate the stator's output. The code is telling u that the supply voltage when the bike is running is spiking. With the engine running@ 2k put a VOM across the battery, should be about 14.5 vdc. Strongly suspect the Regulator or the ground.

FWIW, I had the exact same problem with the exact same code on my bike. I was using a Custom Dynamics load equalizer/line conditioner. With it connected, it threw the code. Disconnected, no code.
