I guess I don't get it. Why not buy an Ultra if you have the rear tailight and TP? Looks like you changed the exhaust too. Was that Stage 1 stuff leftover from the old bike? What made you go with the Special over the regular SG?
The tourpak is only on during week long road trips. It is currently sitting on a rack in the garage.
The tail light is not my choice, it comes that way. I have a blacked out LED tail light on its way from Custom Dynamics, as well as smoked rear LEDs and Dynamic Rings for the front.
The exhaust was a set off an old bike. I have V&H monster square pipes arriving on Thursday.
No brainer on the Special. Premium shocks....painted to match inner fairing as long as you order a vivid black bike....built in GPS to clean up the handlebars.
Not crazy about pinstripes but "ya takes what ya gets"
Still waiting on stage 1. Not sure what I am doing yet. Dealer didn't even have a download available for it or the intake change.
But, I might add, the extra power on this "High Output 103" can really be felt. If not for the cutting down on the heat, I would be happy with the power this bike comes with.
So, you bought a Street Glide and basically turned it into an Ultra Classic? Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, but I kinda prefer the low profile look that the SG was designed to have.
Adding wind protection and storage to a streetglide doesn't make it an ultra. I think his bike looks pretty sweet and that stuff snaps off in under ten minutes for the stripped down look.
I did the same thing to my '07, made my streetglide cross country capable so I can do consecutive 600 mile days... I doubt anybody would mistake it for an ultra.

Are you still using the stock seat for those 600 mile rides?
Are you still using the stock seat for those 600 mile rides?
Yup.. Rode the bike to Sturgis and back with that seat, up the California coast to Washington with that seat and multiple trips to Idaho with that seat. It's perfectly comfortable for me.
Note that picture was taken at Spearfish Canyon in South Dakota, I live in Kalifornistan.

In your opinion does the 103 make more power than the '12/'13 103's? I hear they have different cams in the '14s...
